Kristie Muller
yet

March 29 - May 4, 2014
Opening Reception March 29, 6-9pm

INTERSTATE is pleased to announce yet, Kristie Muller's first solo exhibition in New York. On view is a new series of photographs taken this past winter in Ontario, Canada. The images are of the sky, rushing water, and building tops; outdoor subjects that appear unchanged by winter.

The images are unaltered and depict a flatness and surreality achieved in brief periods of brightness, also emphasized with traditional framing and proportion.

This new work continues Muller's relationship to constraints and the results of working within assigned limitation. The weather, the frame, the lens, the composition and how these determine the making of an image and of seeing.

In addition there will be tempered glass. Glass taken from Muller's table top that recently shattered due to cold temperatures. The glass acts as evidence of the external and how this sometimes, often, decides things.
